Alaska Wilderness Action was founded in 2004 with the goal of strengthening the efforts to protect wild Alaska. Alaska’s public lands and waters, from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, to the Tongass National Forest, to the waters of America’s Arctic Ocean, must be protected now and in the future for the benefit of all the American people. Alaska Wilderness Action will work to create opportunities to ensure long-term protections for Alaska’s lands and waters by raising the profile of Alaska conservation across the country and developing tools to hold decision-makers accountable.
We support legislative initiatives to protect Alaska's wild lands and waters.
Use grassroots campaigning to educate and mobilize citizens and promote awareness of Alaska's pristine environment.
We help establish new leadership within the environmental community.
